With the launch of Ohio’s new managed care program in July, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is ramping up its efforts to educate and connect with providers and beneficiaries about the forthcoming changes. But what does that include and how can you get connected?

  1. SIGN-UP FOR UPDATESFirst, ODM has created a mailbox and a newsletter where information can be sent and questions can be asked. To see all previous announcements head to the state’s website and email ODMNextGen@medicaid.ohio.gov to be added to the listserv. The website also has a number of resources about the new program with information for individuals, providers and vendors.
  1. HELP YOUR CLIENTS UPDATE THEIR INFO AND CHOOSE A PLANWith the termination of the Public Health Emergency, and the transition to a new system, it is critical Medicaid enrollees have up to date information on their benefits and eligibility. To do this, enrollees can update their info in one of the following ways:
  • Call (844) 640-6446. After selecting the option for their preferred language, the member should select option 2 and they will be prompted to enter their zip code.
  • Individuals with an existing Self-Service Portal (SSP) account can report changes online at https://ssp.benefits.ohio.gov. After logging in, they will click the Access my Benefits tile, then click Report a Change to my Case from the drop down and follow the prompts.
  • Contact their County Department of Job and Family Services (CDJFS). Ohio Medicaid members can find their CDJFS by viewing the County Directory at https://jfs.ohio.gov/County/County%5FDirectory.stm.
Now that there are new plans in Ohio, members can exercise their rights to choose a plan that’s right for them.

Additionally, now that there are new plans in Ohio, members can exercise their rights to choose a plan that’s right for them. To learn more, the state has a tool enabling Medicaid enrollees to compare plans, check in on networks, and request a change: https://www.ohiomh.com/

  1. ATTEND OHIORISE LISTENING AND TRAINING SESSIONSThe Center for Community Solutions has been advocating for better services for Multi-System Youth (MSY) and OhioRISE is an incredible opportunity to improve services for this population. To help, ODM and Aetna, Better Health of Ohio, the managed care plan operating OhioRISE, are inviting behavioral health advocates and providers to attend Aetna OhioRISE listening and training sessions occurring in February and March.

Listening Sessions

The OhioRISE Aetna listening sessions are meetings where participants involved with behavioral health services and supports will be asked to give their thoughts on what's working, what isn't working, and what Aetna Better Health of Ohio, the OhioRISE plan, can do to support youth and families starting in July 2022.

Aetna OhioRISE listening sessions will be held from February 15-24, 2022.

Aetna OhioRISE listening sessions will be held from February 15-24, 2022. The groupings and session dates and times are below, but click here to register for the listening sessions or contact OhioRISEstakeholders@aetna.com for more information. And, if you’re an organization who helps people connect to these resources, the state has also created flyers for advocacy organizations and providers you can share and promote.

Provider Training Sessions

OhioRISE community and provider trainings are facilitated jointly by ODM, Aetna Better Health of Ohio, and the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center of Ohio (CABH COE) in a series of modules covering a range of OhioRISE implementation, systems, and operational topics.

For each module, there will be an opportunity to attend a live training session. Each live session will be recorded and will be available on the OhioRISE webpage in the following week after the live training session. Office hours will be held at various times to provide an opportunity for those who attended the live training or watched the recorded training to raise questions to OhioRISE subject matter experts (SMEs). ODM encourages all community partners and providers who will deliver OhioRISE services and support to OhioRISE-enrolled youth and their families to attend each module as applicable.
